T’ai Chi Ch’uan is a Chinese martial art and internal exercise that derives from Chinese culture and philosophy. The Taoist theory of the t’ai chi and the yin and yang symbol expresses a unity of opposites. Ch’uan in this context means martial art in Chinese.

T’ai Chi Ch’uan is a martial art that cultivates internal discipline that helps focus the mind and develop a sense of inner strength.  

We’ve been teaching Classic T’ai Chi Ch’uan of the Yang style continuing in the tradition of Grand Master Cheng Man-ch’ing for over 40 years. The T’ai Chi Ch’uan classic style that we teach stems directly from Yang Chen Fu of the Yang Family in China.

When our students study and practice Classic T’ai Chi Ch’uan they benefit from both the health and self-defense aspects of this martial art. Students learn how to relax, improve posture, balance, mental focus and concentration. Students also learn proper applications for self-defense.

There are many health benefits associated with the practice of T’ai Chi Ch’uan such as reduced stress, increase in flexibility and agility, and improved internal functions.

Classic T’ai Chi Ch’uan is a training of mind and body for health and physical well-being.
